Transferring and completing your education at the FP Canada Institute™

This page is for students currently enrolled in education programs towards Certified Financial Planner® certification or Qualified Associate Financial Planner™ certification at The Canadian Institute of Financial Planning (CIFP).

Effective September 28, 2024, the CIFP Core Curriculum and Advanced Curriculum Program for QAFP® certification and CFP® certification will no longer fulfil the technical education requirements on the path to QAFP certification and CFP certification.

We’re here to ensure students do not face education disruption or additional costs!

At FP Canada, we’re committed to ensuring students who are currently enrolled with CIFP, and working to complete education on the path to obtaining CFP certification or QAFP certification, are able to seamlessly continue their education without disruption or extra fees.

That’s why, for a limited time, we’re making it easy for CIFP students to transfer to the FP Canada Institute™ to complete their technical education.

For students who have purchased the Core Curriculum & Advanced Curriculum Program, and are part way through the program on the path to CFP certification or QAFP certification, choose one of these options:

OPTION 1:

You may be eligible for a complimentary education transfer.

Contact FP Canada to transfer your existing education registration* to the FP Canada Institute and continue your education on the path to certification at no additional cost.

This offer expires on September 28, 2024.

OPTION 2:

You may continue to complete education through CIFP until September 28, 2024.

After this date, CIFP courses will no longer be approved towards CFP certification or QAFP certification. If you anticipate difficulty meeting this deadline, we advise selecting Option 1 and contacting us to arrange a no-cost education transfer to the FP Canada Institute.

*The above-mentioned education transfer offer is only applicable to individuals who purchased the program through CIFP between January 1, 2023 and April 4, 2024.
This offer does not apply to students taking CIFP courses through a post-secondary institution. If you are a student at a post- secondary institution, please contact FP Canada for more details. You can reach us at info@fpcanada.ca or (416) 593-8587, 1-800-305-9886 from Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm ET.
