QAFP® Professionals

Qualified Associate Financial Planner certification demonstrates a financial planner’s competence and commitment to high professional and ethical standards. QAFP® professionals have proven they have the knowledge, skills, and experience to provide holistic financial planning strategies to clients who are building their financial well-being and that are ideally suited to today’s speed of life.

CFP® Professionals

Certified Financial Planner® certification is the most widely recognized financial planning designation in Canada and throughout the world and is considered the 'gold standard' for the profession. CFP professionals have demonstrated the knowledge, skills, experience, and ethics to examine their clients’ entire financial picture, at the highest level of complexity required of the profession, and work with their clients to build a financial plan so that they can Live Life Confidently.

Notice: It’s important to be vigilant when engaging an individual to support you with your financial planning needs. CFP professionals and QAFP professionals are held to rigorous certification and professional standards. FP Canada recommends verifying financial planners' certification status by searching for their names on this tool.

All FP Canada certificants are held to rigorous certification and professional standards. This directory includes each FP Canada certificant’s: name, certification, status, location and—if applicable—disciplinary history with FP Canada. While the search results of this tool are not an endorsement of any individual planner, you can rest assured that those listed have met FP Canada’s rigorous certification standards and are, unless otherwise noted, in good standing with FP Canada.

You may also use this tool to search for individuals who hold the FP Retired status.

If you have questions about the certification status of a specific planner, please contact us at info@fpcanada.ca, 416-593-8587 or 1-800-305-9886.
Our office is open from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET.

If your planner holds additional designations (e.g. CPA, CFA, LLB etc.) and /or licenses (e.g. mutual fund, securities or insurance license etc.), for a more complete picture of their qualification and regulatory history, you should consult the appropriate professional oversight body (e.g. CPA Ontario for Chartered Professional Accountant in Ontario) or governing regulatory authorities forums’ web sites (e.g. Canadian Insurance Service Regulatory Organization (CISRO), Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA), Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC), Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada (MFDA)).
